To save time and help Support troubleshoot any error messages your computer may be generating, try taking a picture of the screen containing the error message. There are many ways to accomplish this.
One way to capture and save a picture of your entire screen, is to hold down the “Functions (Fn)” key and tap the “Print Screen (PrtSc)” key. This will save a picture of the entire screen in memory that you then can paste into a windows document or email for reference.
To capture your entire screen to a file that is saved in a “Screenshots” folder located in your Pictures folder requires a few keys to accomplish depending on how the “Print Screen” key on your keyboard is accessed. For example on a laptop, you may need to use the “Windows” + “Function” + “Print Screen” buttons to save the entire screen to a file.
If you just want to save the window that is open containing the error message then click on the title bar of the window that you want to capture. Next, tap down on keys “Alt + PrtScn”. A screenshot of the window is saved in memory (clipboard) and you can now paste it into a document or email to include for support. On some devices, you may need to tap down “Alt + Fn + PrtScn” keys to save the error message window.
These are just a few ways of capturing your computers screen. Windows also has an app called “Snip & Sketch” that you can use to select exactly what it is you want to save. This allows you to either paste or save the screen shot you’ve captured.
